  - Day Camp: $150 for ALL campers regardless of whether you are part time or full time (covers your last week of day camp and includes a t-shirt)

  - PreK Pals: $85 (covers your last week of PreK Pals)

  - Workshops:  $50 for EACH workshop to secure your spot (balance paid Monday of each workshop). If your child is only taking a workshop and needs to stay for lunch/recess (1130am-1230pm) please add $25 per week.

 - Additional t-shirts are $10

Clay! with Jeff Ryan

In Mr. Ryan's workshop, your child will be exposed to the wonderful world of ceramics.  What is clay?  What's a glaze, a kiln?  Campers will gain an understanding of what clay is, where it's found, and how we can use it for making things like pottery, sculpture, brick and tile.  Campers will work in a variety of techniques including pinch pottery, coil building, slab building, and tile.  All campers' work will be decorated, fired and glazed in a kiln.  Note:  work will not be ready the same week as workshop due to drying/firing time.


Mr. Mike’s Dinner Bell

This workshop will teach your child how to prepare home-cooked meals from scratch.  The menu will consist of several of Mr. Mike’s favorite healthy and tasty meals. Mr. Mike will impart cooking skills that will include grilling to soup making. Campers will be able to sample all the delicious food they cook and go home with a culinary treat. As always, MLA is peanut-free!


Stop Action Theatre

Back by popular demand! Mr. Mike will guide campers in the art of Stop Action movie making. Campers will learn about the Stop Action movie making process from script writing through editing. Who knows, maybe your camper will be the next Tim Burton (Nightmare Before Christmas) or Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit).

Join Mrs. McBride for an action packed game week with activities such as soccer, ultimate Frisbee, wiffle ball, and a grand finale Capture the Flag game!  This workshop will teach your child cooperative learning skills, as well as emphasize several athletic and strategic skills by playing a variety of different outdoor games/sports.  Campers will have fun learning lifelong skills that will help them lead active and healthy lives.


Lego Friends at Legotown

Bring your creativity to join Ms. Pat as a Lego city planner.  Create a Legotown by laying out streets, building bridges, constructing buildings and houses, making signs and developing recreation sites.


Kindergarten Readiness

Let's get our feet wet with some fun exploring what Kindergarteners do.  This week includes an introduction to math, story writing and book making, learning about elephants, creating a 3D map and celebrating WV day.  Join us and become and experienced Kindie!

Aloha Summer
Welcome to Summer Camp! Say "Aloha" to the school year as we embrace summer with sand art, limbo contests, outdoor activities and water games.


Week 2:  June 12 - 16

From the North to the South
This week get to know our neighbors to the North - Canada - and to the South - Mexico.  Explore the culture, traditions, music, food and art of our friendly neighbors. 

Week 3:  June 19 - 23

The Dark Side
Explore the power of dark and light art this week using different media.  Students will learn about the balance of light and dark, positive and negative through pencil sketching, charcoal drawings, and black and white photography.


Week 4:  June 26 - 30

The Force
Let the force be with you this week as we explore the different forces at work in the world.  Force, gravity, friction, speed, mass and motion will be explored through science experiments indoors and out. 


Week 5:  July 3 - 7 (closed Tuesday July 4)

Red, White, and You
Be the best YOU that you can be this week.  Autobiographical writing skills, personal art and literature are activities this week that will celebrate each camper's uniqueness.


Week 6:  July 10 - 14

Child vs. Wild

Join us for this outdoor adventure week.  Activities include challenges that involve skills and energy, and those that involve thought, problem-solving and team work.


Week 7:  July 17 - 21

Giants, Wizards, Elves

Use your imaginations this week as we enter a mythical world of Giants, Wizards and Elves.  Amulets, invisible ink spell books, potions, magic wands and gnome homes are a few of the activities of this magical week.


Week 8:  July 24 - 28


Dive into the beauty and science of water.  Campers conduct experiments to better appreciate this valuable natural resource.


Week 9:  July 31 - Aug 4


Can you smell the cotton candy in the air?  Then it must be carnival week.  Campers will have a ball this week "working" on games of chance, face painting and an old-fashioned cake walk.


Week 10:  August 7 - 11

Kid’s Choice

Back by popular demand, this week the activities will be chosen by you!  Pick from all of your favorite themes of the summer, then vote on the top 10.  Voting for Kid's Choice week will be held during Week 8: Splash (July 24 - 28).  You don't want to miss it!

Join us for this fun, hands-on summer program specially designed for 3 and 4 year olds! 

Benefits of this program include, flexible scheduling, taught by experienced teachers, and developmentally appropriate activities.

**New for 2017! MLA summer camp is offering daily(M-Th), peanut-free lunches at $40/week.  Please see the order form on our main summer registration page.

The MLA Summer Program has been in existence for over sixteen years and has served many children in the Morgantown area. All children ages 5 through 11 are welcome in Day Camp. PK Pals is offered for 3 and 4 year olds.  This summer, MLA will offer the following options for the summertime fun and learning:

The very popular Summer Day Camp enables children to learn and grow during the summer months through hands on activities by exploring weekly themes. Some activities include: arts and crafts, educational games, language-building activities, guest speakers, music, field trips, outdoor exploration, and social activities. In addition, all MLA campers get to participate in weekly outdoor activities in the garden and/or woods with Mountain SOL™ staff.  Campers can enroll in as few or as many weeks as they would like and choose the own hours of attendance between the hours of 7:30 am-6:00 pm.

Day Camp Hours are 7:30 am -6:00 pm

Monday through Thursday at MLA's campus

Fridays (except first week and rainy days) pick up and drop off at Krepps Park and pool

(Entry fee to the pool is not included; BOPARC pool passes can be used; pool information sheet distributed at camp)


Full Time is $150 for 25 hours or more within the week ($140 for 2017-18 MLA students)
Part Time is $120 for 24 hours or less within the week ($110 for 2017-18 MLA students)


Our Preschool program Pre K Pals , a fun, hands-on, summer fun program designed specifically for 3 and 4 year olds. Children will be active throughout the morning hours participating in dramatic play, blocks and building, sensory table time, arts and crafts, outside exploratory play, games and puzzles, reading exploration, gross and fine motor skills, socials skills , fun theme activities and much more. PK Pals also participates in weekly outdoor activities in the garden/woods with our Mountain SOL staff. Our PreK Pals can enroll in as many weeks as they would like.

Class size is limited to 10 children per class.  T/W/Th 8:15 am - 12:00 noon.

PK Pals is $85 per week


MLA offers a variety of specialty Workshops. These workshops run Monday through Thursday, with the option to go to Krepp's Park and Pool on Friday.  The Mountain Stewardship and Outdoor Leadership School also offers workshops. If your child is only attending an MLA workshop and needs to stay for lunch and recess (11:30 - 12:30), please add $25 per week to your deposit.
