  - Day Camp: $150 for ALL campers regardless of whether you are part time or full time (covers your last week of day camp and includes a t-shirt)

  - PreK Pals: $85 (covers your last week of PreK Pals)

  - Workshops:  $50 for EACH workshop to secure your spot (balance paid Monday of each workshop). If your child is only taking a workshop and needs to stay for lunch/recess (1130am-1230pm) please add $25 per week.

Mr. Mike’s Dinner Bell

This workshop will teach your child how to prepare home-cooked meals from scratch.  The menu will consist of several of Mr. Mike’s favorite healthy and tasty meals. Mr. Mike will impart cooking skills that will include grilling to soup making. Campers will be able to sample all the delicious food they cook and go home with a culinary treat. As always, MLA is peanut-free!


Stop Action Theatre

Back by popular demand! Mr. Mike will guide campers in the art of Stop Action movie making. Campers will learn about the Stop Action movie making process from script writing through editing. Who knows, maybe your camper will be the next Tim Burton (Nightmare Before Christmas) or Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit).

Come and explore the world of coding and robots with this hands-on STEM workshop.  Ms. Georgette and Ms. Tracey will provide hands-on activities using a selection of cool robotic kits:  WeDo 2.0 and Ozobot Evo.  Kids will have a blast programming their robots to complete missions while improving their coding skills.  All levels of experience welcome, so just bring your imagination and away we go!

Young Yogis Yoga

This workshop will allow us to pose and move our way through many exciting stories and adventures!  Focus on balance, breathing and fun for our little yogis!  Each yoga lesson will be based on a story or theme and end with a mindful creative craft.

This workshop will show you all the wacky and wonderful things we can mix up and create!  We will get messy, and it will be a blast!  From tie dying to soap making, we will explore all that messiness has to offer.


Reading Rally

This workshop will focus on the author Mo Williams.  We will work on reading strategies that will make reading fun for the young reader.  We will even create our own storybooks!  Unleash the author in you this summer.


Yoga and Mindfulness

This workshop will focus on yoga for the young learner.  We will learn fun breathing techniques and participate in many different types of yoga followed by a mindful creative craft!  Come find your balance and have a ball!


Petite Potters and Potions

This week's workshop will focus on our younger crowd of muggles.  We will be making edible potions and science experiments along with channeling our inner quidditch players.  We will have a potter-iffic time!


Comic Camp

This workshop will explore the genre of graphic novels.  Students will read a variety of graphic novels and learn about story structure, page composition, pacing, character design and more.  Students will then create their own graphic novels that they will self-publish during the workshop.

Get ready to move!  Join us as we explore different ways to get fit and have fun.  We will sample different styles of conditioning and take advantage of our beautiful trails on campus.  This workshop will help students learn the benefits of staying active and living a healthy lifestyle.

Week 1:  June 4 - 8

Mountaineer Pride 
We kick-off the Summer by celebrating our home - West Virginia!  Through engaging activities, campers will discover cool facts that make our state unique, explore traditional Appalachian music and art, and learn about famous West Virginians.

Week 2:  June 11 - 15

Tops & Bottoms
Campers journey to the Arctic and Antarctic this week with activities about the earth’s polar regions.  Uncover the differences between the North and South poles and discover animals that live only in these parts of the world and how they survive their extreme weather.

Week 3:  June 18 - 22

The Great American Baking Show
Roll up your sleeves and let the flour fly because this week is all about BAKING!  From bread and rolls to cookies and cakes, campers will crack open the secret ingredients to creating some of our favorite treats!


Week 4:  June 25 - 29

Build It, Crash It, Build It Again!
Bring out your inner engineer this week with hands-on experiments to design, build and test a variety of items to spark campers’ imagination and develop their problem-solving skills.  


Week 5:  July 2 - 6 (closed Wednesday July 4)

My Country Tis of Thee
In celebration of America’s independence, campers will embark on an adventure to explore the United States through art, reading and geography activities.


Week 6:  July 9 - 13

Catch A Wave

Campers will “Hang Ten” this week as they discover the science of waves and how they travel through water, from tsunamis to sound and light waves.


Week 7:  July 16 - 20

Mythical Creatures & Where to Find Them

Leap into mythology this week as campers delve into the origins and traditions of some of our favorite creatures of legend:  centaurs and unicorns and basilisks, oh my!


Week 8:  July 23 - 27

To the Moon and Back!

Put on your spacesuit and take a mission to the Moon!  Campers will unearth fun facts about our closest cosmic neighbor and explore the trajectory of how man came to walk on the moon.  Includes a visit from Starlab.

Week 9:  July 30 - August 3

Grass Heads

Have you ever wanted to make your own Chia Pet?  Now you can!  This week campers will turn the outdoors into their own studio by creating crafts and other art projects that are inspired by, and made from, nature.


Week 10:  August 6 - 10

Kids' Choice

Back by popular demand, this week the activities will be chosen by you!  Pick from all of your favorite themes of the summer, then vote on the top 9.  Voting for Kids' Choice week will be held during Week 8: To The Moon and Back! (July 23 - 27).  You don't want to miss it!

Join us for this fun, hands-on summer program specially designed for 3 and 4 year olds!

**MLA summer camp is offering daily(M-Th), peanut-free lunches at $40/week.  Please see the order form on our main summer registration page.

The MLA Summer Program has been in existence for over sixteen years and has served many children in the Morgantown area. All children ages 5 through 11 are welcome in Day Camp. PK Pals is offered for 3 and 4 year olds.  This summer, MLA will offer the following options for the summertime fun and learning:

The very popular Summer Day Camp enables children to learn and grow during the summer months through hands on activities by exploring weekly themes. Some activities include: arts and crafts, educational games, language-building activities, guest speakers, music, field trips, outdoor exploration, and social activities. In addition, all MLA campers get to participate in weekly outdoor activities in the garden and/or woods with Mountain SOL™ staff.  Campers can enroll in as few or as many weeks as they would like and choose the own hours of attendance between the hours of 7:30 am-6:00 pm.

Day Camp Hours are 7:30 am -6:00 pm

Monday through Thursday at MLA's campus

Fridays (except first week and rainy days) pick up and drop off at Krepps Park and pool

(Entry fee to the pool is not included; BOPARC pool passes can be used; pool information sheet distributed at camp)

Rates for Summer 2018 

Full Time is $150 for 25 hours or more within the week ($140 for 2017-18 MLA students)
Part Time is $120 for 24 hours or less within the week ($110 for 2017-18 MLA students)


Our Preschool program Pre K Pals , a fun, hands-on, summer fun program designed specifically for 3 and 4 year olds. Children will be active throughout the morning hours participating in dramatic play, blocks and building, sensory table time, arts and crafts, outside exploratory play, games and puzzles, reading exploration, gross and fine motor skills, socials skills , fun theme activities and much more. PK Pals also participates in weekly outdoor activities in the garden/woods with our Mountain SOL staff. Our PreK Pals can enroll in as many weeks as they would like.

Class size is limited to 10 children per class.  T/W/Th 8:15 am - 12:00 noon.

PK Pals is $85 per week


MLA offers a variety of specialty Workshops. These workshops run Monday through Thursday, with the option to go to Krepp's Park and Pool on Friday.  The Mountain Stewardship and Outdoor Leadership School also offers workshops. If your child is only attending an MLA workshop and needs to stay for lunch and recess (11:30 - 12:30), please add $25 per week to your deposit.
